Liberating the artist within... the first phase of an inspiration and creation

Liberating the Artist Within
Looking ahead, planning the next painting has always been somewhat daunting. Pouring over favorite books, quotes, famous paintings, old photos is the first step. When I've exhausted all the "excuses" not to begin and "have reorganized my art room again", it's time to start the process. Once selecting the focus, whether landscape, wildlife, architecture, relics, nature -- the palette and underpainting are crucial.
Honestly, each creation may not work out the way I planned, so I stop at some point and go onto the next. However, it is that first phase that provides encouragement to continue creating. Never giving in to timid moments, just going for it each time - letting positive inspiration be my guide and considering each project a success in its own way.
Onto the next project ... another day of inspiration and hope.
“Art should be something that liberates your soul, provokes the imagination and encourages people to go further.” – Keith Haring
